Corpus Christi

We nourish ourselves by way of food. God in His infinite wisdom gives us the means to live spiritually. In Christ's body we are fed the "Bread of Life," to become what we all are ultimately created for: to be united with and returned to the Creator. In Christ's Blood, we are given new life, our sins are washed by the One whom loves us, our life is restored in the One who makes all things new again. In the Death of Christ we too, rise again, in this synthesis of dying to what was our old life and rising to the Light in the Life of the Trinity we are presented the greatest and most precious gift ever given mankind, a gift that exceeds all beauty and splendor of the natural world.
There is the "Good News" that is to be proclaimed to the world, that despite our limitations and our sin. God's infinite love for His people rises above all the despair of this hopeless world, like the morning sun at the dawn of a new day.

"Jesus said to the Jews, "I am the living bread which came down from heaven; if any one eats of this bread, he will live for ever; and the bread which I shall give for the life of the world is My flesh." The Jews them disputed among themselves, saying, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" So Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, I say to you unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink His blood, you have no life in you; he who eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For My flesh is food indeed, and My blood is drink indeed. He who eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in him. As the living Father sent Me, and I live because of the Father, so he who eats Me will live because of Me. This is the bread which came down from heaven, not such as the fathers ate and died; he who eats this bread will live for ever." John 6:51-58
