"The simplest truth about man is that he is a very strange being; almost in the sense of being a stranger on the earth." G.K. Chesterton

Beware the Tolerant for They Shall Silent You
A friend of mine had emailed this entry from http://www.catholicvoteaction.org/americanpapist/index.php?p=7828 about a professor named Ken Howell being fired by the University of Illinois for teaching the Catholic Faith. Actually as you will see Mr. Howell taught a course entitled An "Introduction to Catholicism." So Mr. Howell was fired for literally teaching the truth! That would be equivalent to teaching Chemistry and declaring you must remove hydrogen from the Periodic Table or be fired. But we should all know better for I completely forgot about the fact that Notre Dame University, which claims to be a Catholic School would not publish in their school newspaper - the Observer a letter from Doctor Charles Rice, distinguished Law professor, on the Catholic Church's teaching on homosexuality. This coming from Defend Us in Battle back in March: http://defend-us-in-battle.blogspot.com/2010/03/breaking-notre-dame-observer-refuses-to.html Academic Institutions of higher learning have no interest in the truth - they want hide behind the facade of tolerance. Here's what GK Chesterton said about tolerance: "Tolerance is the virtue of the man without convictions."
