Sacred Scripture on Humility

Man's pride causes his humiliation, but he who is humble of spirit obtains honor. Proverbs 29: 23

The fear of the LORD is training for wisdom, and humility goes before honors Proverbs 15:33

Finally, all of you, be of one mind, sympathetic, loving toward one another, compassionate, humble.Do not return evil for evil, or insult for insult; but, on the contrary, a blessing, because to this you were called, that you might inherit a blessing. 1 Peter 3: 8-9

Likewise, you younger members, be subject to the presbyters. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility in your dealings with one another, for: "God opposes the proud but bestows favor on the humble." 1 Peter 5:5

Do nothing out of selfishness or out of vainglory; rather, humbly regard others as more important than yourselves, each looking out not for his own interests, but (also) everyone for those of others. Have among yourselves the same attitude that is also yours in Christ Jesus Paul's Letter to the Phillipians 2: 3-5

They were exceedingly astonished and said among themselves, "Then who can be saved?" Jesus looked at them and said, "For human beings it is impossible, but not for God. All things are possible for God."Peter began to say to him, "We have given up everything and followed you." Jesus said, "Amen, I say to you, there is no one who has given up house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or lands for my sake and for the sake of the gospel who will not receive a hundred times more now in this present age: houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and lands, with persecutions, and eternal life in the age to come. But many that are first will be last, and (the) last will be first." Mark 10: 26-31

When we are truly humble we do not fear our own failures nor do we fear others successes. This gives us a sense of peace and it allows God to reside in you. Pray for humility.
