Please keep Our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI in your prayers as he shepherds us in this Holy Week. Satan has used the desires of the flesh throughout this sinful world and even has brought about shame to those servants of God. But do not dismay nor fall into the snare of the trap of the Evil One. Satan will continue to use the flesh to attempt to disgrace the Church, but the Bridegroom has promised that Satan will never prevail. Never!
Lord, source of eternal life and truth, give your shepherd, Pope Benedict, a spirit of courage and right judgment, a spirit of knowledge and love.
By governing with fidelity those entrusted to his care, may he, as successor to the apostle Peter and Vicar of Christ, build Your Church into a sacrament of unity, love, and peace for all the world.
We ask this through our Lord Jesus Christ, Your Son, Who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
