- "I am the true vine, and my Father is the vine grower. He takes away every branch in me that does not bear fruit, and everyone that does he prunes so that it bears more fruit. You are already pruned because of the word that I spoke to you. Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me. I am the vine, you are the branches. Whoever remains in me and I in him will bear much fruit, because without me you can do nothing. Anyone who does not remain in me will be thrown out like a branch and wither; people will gather them and throw them into a fire and they will be burned. If you remain in me and my words remain in you, ask for whatever you want and it will be done for you. By this is my Father glorified, that you bear much fruit and become my disciples. As the Father loves me, so I also love you. Remain in my love."

The Vine
I just woke up from a vivid dream. I was speaking to a group of people about making Jesus the center of their lives and as I looked out towards them I could see within each person a network of vines, connected and interconnected. They were like veins, or like tiny rivers moving in all directions with small tributaries. I heard God speak that those vines were the work done through the Holy Spirit within each of our lives and that we are all connected to each other. How connected depended on the work we each did. Then I heard these words "I am the vine and you are the branches." my alarm went off and I woke up. I immediately went to my Bible to read John. Here is what Jesus said:

Hey, I really appreciate you sharing your dream. I so often have had beautiful dreams of and about Jesus and Our Lady.
Recently my mother shared a dream of hers that she and I were sharing a picnic when Jesus approached us. He placed his right hand on my left shoulder in blessing and then left us.
It was so validating to me, considering the struggles I go through caring for an aging parent, and I think a little eye-opening for her. I was especially moved because I had just learned the day before that in His culture at the time he walked the earth, to sit at the right hand of the person at the head of the table was the place of greatest honor.
I don't think the dream meant I was more honorable than my mother. It was an affirmation from God, though, that he honors my service to my mother. Very reassuring!
I do think we have forgotten that God has spoken to us chiefly through dreams and visions! Thank you for paying attention to yours.
Blessings,
Rose
