We call this week Holy Week to describe the Passion & Death of Our Lord. It is Holy for one and only one reason; the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ. We do not add anything to that Holiness. Just as Judas betrayed Our Lord we too betray Him, when we say yes to the distractions of the world."What we gave away, first for evil and then for good, we receive back from God the Father, through the power of the Holy Spirit in the Holy Eucharist, but in changed(resurrected) form. For a demonstration of what it means to sacrifice "for good" we must look at Mary beneath the Cross. In allowing what, to her, is the most appalling thing imaginable, she is one with her Son's sacrificial spirit: and here Mary stands for the whole loving Church, saying "yes" and allowing the triune God to perfect the mystery of redemption, the mysterium fidei."
