Carry the Banner of Christ

"The Kingdom of God is like yeast that a woman took and mixed into a large amount of flour until it worked all through the dough."
Luke 13:20-21 Have you ever made bread? The yeast has to be placed in water and flour mixture at just the right temperature or it won't rise. We have a popular culture that has not warmed up to this idea of the Kingdom of God. That is not something new, it has happened throughout the ages from generation to generation. Secularism is a poor environment for "yeast to grow" But we should not be discouraged even if family members of the younger generation don't get it. Our role as members of the laity is to spread the Truth, which is the Gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ. Our responsibility is to carry the banner of Christ each and every day we walk this planet. We can only convince minds and hearts by first and foremost being like Christ in all our actions. Difficult? Yes. There are those who would be converted if they could witness us as the Christians we professed to be. We can make a more compelling case when we are humble, kind, generous, loving, and demonstrate all the attributes that are present in Christ. Be encouraged that we have the grace of our Lord and Creator. As Pope John Paul II stated at the beginning of his papacy "Be not afraid...open wide the doors to Christ"
