The Cross of Christ

"Trust in a faithless man in time of trouble is like a bad tooth or a foot that slips.
"He who sings songs to a heavy heart is like one who takes off a garment on a cold day, or pours vinegar on a wound." Proverbs 25:19-20
The more you move in a direction from God and towards self-reliance and worse than that, reliance on government the more you will be disappointed. Over the last couple of decades I have witnessed a shift from people in their attitude towards government. Nearly all young people that I speak with consider government the source to turn to in time of trouble. This is a grave mistake. The current economic crisis that exists today has a road that leads to one of many places, but the government is responsible for much of it. The politicians who run this government do not care about the private citizens interest, that is secondary to their primary interest; lining their pockets with gold. The politicians who run this government do not care about family or the sanctity of life. The politicians who run this country do not care about your soul and your eternal life. Yes, there is nothing better than a crisis so that the government can tell you what they are doing for you and the vast majority of people swallow it up. If you are betting on a better future (more money for more toys) then beware, the massive waste and spending is coming back to roost and young people will pay. I read that the current president has attended church services three times since he has been elected, you can see where his priorities are. There is one place and only one place to put your trust - the cross of Christ, the source of Truth.

You are so right! It is a fact that those who have been given authority over many sheep will be held accountable and their punishment if they have led a single sheep astray will be severe (that of course goes for ALL of but much weight is placed on those in authority). I hope and pray our president finds conversion in His heart and that he may consecrate every single action he takes in his current office to our Lord. We must pray for this soul that he may come home. Thanks for posting this!
